The Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) on August 27, 2026, notified the process for changing industry names and the documents required to be submitted.
The following has been stated:
• It has revised the documentation requirements for processing applications for change of name of industries, with immediate effect, as part of Ease of Doing Business, BRAP+ and compliance-burden reduction initiatives. For industries located outside Industrial Areas, applicants shall now submit either a registered sale deed, 7/12 Extract, or Village Form No. 2 as land-related proof.
• For industrial areas, an allotment letter or land possession certificate is required, while mining projects shall provide the applicable Mineral Mining Lease Permission. Where ownership arises through an NCLT order or bank auction, the relevant document may be submitted, and rented/leased properties require the rent/lease agreement along with applicable ownership documents.
• Applicants shall also submit a self-attested joint undertaking of the transferor and transferee and pay the prescribed processing fee. The authority competent to decide the name-change application will generally follow the powers delegated for Consent to Establish (CTE) applications; however, the Member Secretary will decide Red Category and Large Industries. Applications involving court orders or legal issues will require Legal Branch opinion.
